REAL REASON FOR LEAVING

There is great competition for top talent in today’s job market. There is one question you can ask your candidates that will give you a competitive edge. This question will reveal the REAL REASON this person is seriously contemplating a job change. When you ask “why are you leaving your current position” most candidate write down one of the common top thirteen answers including: lack of communication, money, advancement etc. If the reason is only money and advancement, this person might accept a “counter-offer”, you need to dig deeper.

Ask them “What are the five things you would change if you were your boss?” This will give you the REAL REASON this person is willing to go through the “Trauma of Change” and will show you where you should emphasize your presentation to this candidate. If your opportunity can offer what is missing in their current job, you have a great chance of attracting this candidate to your company. This is one of the most important questions that should be asked during the interviewing process.
