First of all, I’d like to wish you all a Blessed, Happy, Healthy and Properous Holiday Season!

It is amazing how many companies wait until after January 1st to start interviewing for open positions. There is so much more competition for top talent at this time of year. The firms that take advantage of the days between holidays to interview, have the best chance of attracting and hiring the candidates they desire.

Most of you will have your new hiring budgets in place within ten days, and most interviewing processes take up to three weeks. While your competition is celebrating the holidays, schedule interviews and make offers with start dates after the first of the year. Many candidates have more flexibility to take time off work for interviews, during this time of the year which benefits you!

It’s a proven fact that the most important decision your companies make is “WHO” they hire. The “WHAT”, “WHEN” and “WHY” is secondary to getting the right people in place. Take advantage of the current holiday distractions to benefit your company!
