VACATION TIME
This is the time of year many candidates stop interviewing because they do not want to give up their vacation this summer, if they change jobs. We’re starting to get calls from our candidates asking us to put their search on hold until September.
It is important for you to realize this could possibly prevent top talent from interviewing with your firm/company. You need to be clear that planned vacations can be cleared up front when a job offer is extended. Often this vacation is not paid time, but the candidate will receive their earned vacation pay from their prior employer and the increase in compensation should more than make up for vacation pay.
As the competition for top talent keep heating up over the next several months, make sure you are focused on the “hot buttons” of the prospective candidates - and often one of those priorities is a planned vacation!
