Identify New Sources for Candidates
If you go to the Department of Labor Web Site you will read that by the year 2010 there will be 10,330,000 more jobs than people! That is only four short years away and the time to prepare for this top talent shortage is NOW!
One of the most important recruiting strategies you should implement is identifying a new source for candidates at least once per quarter. Two of the easiest ways to accomplish this are:
1. Ask every candidate you interview what sources they are personally utilizing in their search.
2. Ask every candidate you interview how they found their last 2-3 positions.
So often the candidates you interview can lead you to a new source of candidates you didn’t even know existed!
Everyone in your HR Department should try to identify at least one new source of candidates every quarter! It is also motivating to reward the individual who identifies the most new sources in a year. This will also keep this task on the mind of every member of your Human Resource Team!
New sources of top talent surface every day - you just have to learn how to identify and utilize them.
It will be the company with the best talent in the future that will WIN!
