MENTORS ENHANCE RETENTION
When you review the top reasons individuals leave their jobs…many of the reasons could be eliminated if you start a mentor program within your company. Training and growth go hand in hand and a mentor can assist in both of these areas. Mentoring programs also enhance the skills of the appointed mentor! The most important aspects of a mentoring program are structure, follow-up and accountability. This is not the type of program that can be developed overnight. You must also stress the “benefits” of this type of mentoring program for both parties involved!
Many companies we represent attribute their mentor program for increased retention among their management team as well as employees that are participating in the program. It is a very subtle way of letting your employees know you care about their development and growth within your organization.
